Araminta de Clermont is a photographer currently based in London. Her environmental portraiture has been exhibited internationally and is in collections including The South African Gallery, The University of South Africa and The University of Cape Town.
Her media work includes news and feature photography. She has been commissioned by publications such as the Guardian, The Times and The Sunday Times in the UK, and her work has also appeared in magazines like Colors and Marie Claire USA. While living in South Africa, she was a regular contributor to The Sunday Times, S.A.
This series is an exploration into the tattoos, and lives, of members of South Africa’s ‘Numbers’ prison gangs (the 26s, 27s & 28s) after having been released back into society, normally after many years, of imprisonment.
